Using Multi-player PBEM tool
Place multi-player PBEM tool in main PG2 folder
Note: The multi-PBEM tool is in DOS so it works a little strange. It will scroll on its own until you take the mouse arrow off it. To open a folder or select something, use the "Enter" key on keyboard instead of mouse and to scroll use the up and down keys. Don’t use mouse at all.
If you can’t see the scenario title in game itself than follow paragraph below. If you can see it than skip to next paragraph.
Open the tool, than select F1 "prepare a scenario". Scroll through all the folders on right part of tool until you get to Userseen that will have the scenario you want to play. Click on it than I think it puts it into 2-player mode automatically. It may even give you a 4-player code. Write it down. Close tool. Now you will be able to see the scenario title in game.
You will need the 4-player code (write it down). It should be in the .readme file and/or in the scenario description. Start game just like any other scenario. You don’t need to enter a password yet. Once the screen opens with the battlefield and everything, immediately stop (DO NOT click or try moving anything) and save gave like you normally would. Than exit game and open 4-player tool again.
Now use the "F3" key, Make EML Multi, and find the scenario you just saved on right part of tool. It will be in the SAVE folder. Click on saved turn and you will be prompted for the 4-player code. Put it in now. Than click whatever tool asks for it to be saved if any. It’s either ESC or F1 or something. Now the game is in 4-player mode. Close tool.
Go back into PG2 and open that saved turn just like normal. Enter your password. If you did everything right, you can see your partners units but cant move them. It will now be all ready for your 1st turn to start. Play it normally, than save it normally and send it to everyone else.
The F2 option in the multi-PBEM tool is for scenario makers to put the game back into 4 player mode to make changes. That only involves them.
Goldfinger.
