Tournament Rules
By Tourney Meister Kanone
Scoring and rules:
1. BV=25 points, V=15 points, DTV=10 points, TV=10 points.
2. You also add the remaining turns when the game was won. Example, Player X
got a V and had 8 turns left. 15+8=23. I'll check out the scenario and post
a matrix so you can see it more clearly. Score would be the same whether you
were offense or defense--e.g., if you need to win in 6 turns for a BV, you
need to win in 6 turns for a DBV also, and the remaining turns get added in.
(Note: this makes BVs VERY valuable, as you can see.)
In the event of a tie, NA gets to keep the trophy, because we won rather
handily last time.
The highest ranking NA player plays against the highest ranking World player
based on Parade Square standing at the time of the tourney start, and so on
.... (e.g., 4th highest ranking NA player plays against 4th highest ranking
World player)
Players must commit to averaging one turn a week, with no
more than 2 weeks
between turns. Forfeit results in the game being declared a win for the
other player using the score for the turns left: e.g., if one player
forfeits at a time when it would be a V with 7 turns left, the other player
gets 22 points. If a player informs me that his opponent has not replied
within the 2 week period, I will contact the miscreant and find out if the
second player attempted to respond, but there was an e-mail problem or such.
(I know some ISPs block hotmail e-mails with attachments.) Generally
speaking, however, the time is firm, and players should contact their
opponents first rather than me if there is a lull, and do it sooner rather
than later.
The question of whether to play simultaneous mirrors is up
to the players
involved in the match.
Results need to be submitted to ME as well as via the FFWC scoring
mechanism. I need to know who won, result (BV, V, or TV) of both games, and
turns remaining for each. I think we should post on the forum how things are
going and how far along things are at least once a month (trash talking
allowed). If I don't see anything for a match, I will be asking for a
status.
Tourney begins January 1, 2005.
